Opportunities in your area

The Community Energy Heat Maps can help you to identify opportunities for community heating in your area. The maps represent the "heat demand density", that is the demand for heat from homes, public sector and commercial buildings, for every postcode area in the UK.

Community heating is likely to be the best option for any postcode area which is shaded. Areas shaded in red or pink have the greatest potential for community heating networks.

Click a region on the map to access heat maps for your area, or follow the links below:

Scotland London London South East South West East of England Wales East Midlands West Midlands Yorkshire & The Humber North West North East Northern Ireland Northern Ireland UK Map

The Heat Maps were developed in conjunction with a report into "The Potential for Community Heating in the UK". This report has since been revised in November 2003. Click here to download the revised report.

For more information about the Report or the Heat Maps, or to discuss the potential for community heating in your area, contact the Community Energy Helpline on 0870 850 6085 or email us.
