Thousands of people across the UK are using the power of the sun, wind, wood, water, air and ground to generate heat and electricity.

If you’d like to generate your own energy from renewable sources, grants are available thanks to the government’s low carbon buildings programme.

You can apply for a maximum grant of £2,500 for up to three of the following types of technology:

And you’ll also be able to apply for grants for the following technologies when certified products and installers become available on the market:

Wood-fuelled boilers
Renewable combined heat and power (CHP)
Micro CHP
Fuel cells
