Heating
Boilers
Condensing boilers are the most efficient available as they convert over 90% of the fuel they use into useful heat, compared to around 60% for an old conventional boiler. If everyone in the UK who could, installed a condensing boiler, CO 2 emissions would be cut by more than 12 million tonnes and the energy saved would be more than enough to heat every household in Scotland for a year.

Heating controls
When it comes to heating your home efficiently - wasting as little fuel and heat as possible - then a full set of heating controls is just as essential as the right kind of boiler. In fact, fitting the correct heating controls could typically save you around 17% of your heating bill and fitting a condensing boiler along with an upgrade of heating controls could save as much as 40% of your heating fuel bill: around £275 a year.
